Le due prime “lampade nobildonne” capostipiti di una famiglia che comprende anche una serie di vasi. Si tratta di due piantane con cappuccio e stelo dalle cui irregolari fresature si diffonde la luce. Jane e Mary si differenziano per la forma del diffusore: Jane è un classico bicchiere tronco-conico mentre Mary è un panciuto bicchiere da brandy. La particolarità di queste lampade prodotte da una società riconosciuta per le sue forme è invece legata alla ricerca di una elaborata “pelle” esterna. Per questo motivo è stata costruita una macchina per aggredire la superficie del materiale termoplastico secondo uno schema predeterminato. Il risultato del metodo messo così a punto ha permesso di arricchire il manufatto in rotomoulding di una allure di ricchezza percepita.
The first two "noblewomen lamps" of a bigger family that also include a range of pots. They are floor lamps with a hood and stem from which irregular light spreads. Jane and Mary differ in the shape of the diffuser: Jane is a classic half-cone glass while Mary is a paunchy brandy glass. The peculiarity of these lamps produced by a company mostly recognized for its forms is linked to the search for an elaborate external "skin". For this purpose a machine was built to scratch the surface of the thermoplastic material according to a predetermined scheme. The result of which has given the roto moulding artifact an allure of perceived richness.
